Greater Communities Scale: Regional Intelligence to recognize and build Greater/Regional Communities
At the boundary we pass from the local to the regional, which itself is a whole and local itself at some scale. Are we welcomed? When we return to our locale, are we welcomed back?
There are many boundary areas, many systems of regions marked by boundaries which can be of high or low consequence. Regional Intelligence - Regional Communities is a place to sort out the use of local/regional scales in community development. We understand security functions of boundaries and look for protocols for working across boundaries, to the benefit of both our local and regional communities and our local planet.
To do this we consider, use and further develop our "Regional Intelligence." This recognizes existing and emerging "Regional Communities," as well as provides insight as to how to further their development.
Regional communities are are "communities of communities" that have emerged along the lines of the regional commissions and councils of government organized in the 1960's & 1970's in the U.S. Local community identities are not lost; at whatever scale of local, the community simply chooses to work at a greater community scale. Such sub-national regions are used in most countries, as well as sub-state, sub-provincial, etc. regions, which also combine across sub-national and national boundaries.
Regional organizations are commonly used for cross-boundary work by all levels of government on Earth, our local planet.
